Selling Your Property - Children's/Teenager's Room

Lack of storage is the usual problem in a young person’s bedroom. You need somewhere to quickly throw all their belongings when there is a viewing, to show the bedroom off to its full potential. You could store toys in storage boxes with just one or two out at a time which will limit the amount of tidying needed before a viewing.

Make sure that the room looks neat; if the walls are covered in posters try to remove some or all of them, which will open up the space. Some posters displayed in clip frames as pictures would liven up the walls whilst showing the true proportions of the room.

Teenager’s rooms are famous for being a little musty! Make sure that you give them a good spring clean with the rest of the house, keep them well aired and enrol your children’s help on days when there are viewings.

If your children’s artistic talents have been allowed free rein, then now is the time to tone them down. Neutralise vivid colours in their bedrooms and show a mature bedroom for teenagers, a functional bedroom for children and a beautiful nursery for babies. Free rein can then be handed back once you have moved!
