Selling Your Property - Front Exterior The first impression of a property will come as the buyers arrive. Make sure that the front of the property is welcoming. Clear away weeds, fix any broken brickwork, cut the grass and maybe give your front door a new coat of paint and make sure that there are no cobwebs. If you can put up hanging baskets and have neat pots out, these will mean that potential buyers see a well-kept, welcoming property. How does your property compare against your neighbours? Is there anything they have done which improves the look of their property which you could do? Have you got gravel which needs replacing, or bark chippings which need topping up? If your front garden tends to accumulate rubbish from the street, clean it up. Look at the windows - do the window frames need cleaning, or re-varnishing? If you have a gate, does it need oiling or painting? If you live in a flat, you can make sure that any communal areas are neat, tidy and well-lit. You could put flowers there to make it more welcoming. Finally, what is the first impression buyers get of your home as the front door opens? Try to make your hallway open, inviting and easy to enter - so no dogs or children fighting to get out! Make sure that the property smells clean and fresh. More Selling Your Property topics below: |
